Eleanor Augusta Morlang, 80, of Cobleskill died Sunday April 23, 2017 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.
Eleanor was born in New York City on January 22, 1937, the daughter of George and Kathe Kroencke. The Kroencke's moved to Lawyersville in 1946 where they operated a dairy farm.
Eleanor graduated from Cobleskill Central School in 1955 and earned a bachelor's degree in home economics from SUNY -Oneonta. She received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Eleanor taught in the Rochester area and later at Cobleskill Central School. She and her husband raised their children in Cobleskill.
Eleanor was an accomplished weaver, rug hooker, spinner and knitter.
She is survived by her three children: Jodi (Timothy) Blydenburgh, Craig (Melissa) Morlang and Erik (Christina) Morlang, seven grandchildren: Colin, Kathe and Jeremy Blydenburgh; Dylan, Emma, Andrew and Annaliese Morlang, and her sister Inge Spatuzzi.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Merton, and her parents, George and Kathe Kroencke.
There will be no calling hours or services.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St., Ilion, NY.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
