Ilion-Rochester Date Line Shawn A Rankins 40 of 6157 Fawn Meadow Street, Farmington, NY, passed away on Monday June 5, 2017 in Rochester, NY Shawn was born in Ilion, NY, on August 6, 1976 the son of Donald and Karen Brown Rankins, and was a graduate of the Mohawk Central School, he then received his AS from Mohawk Valley Community College, and his BA and MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology. Shawn was employed in Printing Sales with Excelsus Solutions, Rochester. On June 3, 2000 Shawn was united in marriage to the former Doris Brewer in the Oak Ridge Methodist Church in Herkimer. Shawn was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church, and was an Eagle Scout. He was active with Troop 60 Boy Scouts in Rochester and a volunteer with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Shawn is survived by his wife Doris, his children Andrew Michael, and Anna Marie at home, his mother and father Karen and Donald Rankins of Ilion, his in laws Edward and Julia Brewer of Ilion, paternal grandfather Willis Rankins of Mohawk, his sister Corri Rankins of Phoenix, AZ, his brothers in law Ed Brewer Jr.and Kristopher Buchan, Mathew Brewer and Sarah Hammond of Rome, Brett and Mary Brewer of Utica, John and Leigh Brewer of Ilion, his nieces, Korin, Angela, Megan, Emily, Natalie, Charlotte, Ryan and God Children, McKayla and James. Shawn is also survived by his Foreign Exchange sister and her husband Olga and Shawn Collins and their children Kaya and Max of GA. Friends are invited to attend calling hours and funeral service for Shawn to be held on Saturday June 10, 2017 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion calling hours will be from 11:00 to 1:00PM with the funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Long officiating, Interment will follow in the North Columbia Cemetery, North Columbia NY. A memorial service In Shawn's memory will be held at 11:00AM Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Farmington United Methodist Church, Farmington.
