Ilion Gertrude E. Shaw, 78 of Ilion, passed away on Friday December 15, 2017 at the Abraham House in Utica. Gertrude was born on January 15, 1939 in Ilion, she is the daughter of Donald and Jane (Gonyea) Polly. She was a graduate of Ilion schools and was a member of Annunciation Church in Ilion. Gertrude is survived by her father Donald of Ilion; a son Bill Stagg Jr. of Frankfort; two daughters Jayne Stagg and her companion Charlie Beauharnois and Lori and her husband Tom Geise both of Ilion; two brothers Donald and Linda Polly of Ilion and Ron and Kathy Polly of Sandusky, OH. Three grandchildren Ryan Stagg, Raymond and Emily Geise; one great grandchild Christopher Stagg as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Jane, and husbands Bill Stagg Sr. and Gordon Shaw. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 10:30 am at Annunciation Church in Ilion; Fr. Paul Catena will officiate, interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park in New Hartford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-6pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St in Ilion.
