Robert ("Bob") Calvin Travis passed away with his family by his side in Little Falls, New York on May 21, 2018. Bob was born April 16, 1942 in Little Falls, NY to Kenneth and Evelyn Travis. Bob was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Tanya Travis, he is survived by his loving wife Grace Travis of 53 years. They were married in Ilion, NY on February 20, 1965. Bob is remembered by his sister Jo Ann McKenny, his son Robert S. Travis, his daughter Tammy E. Travis, his adopted children Amanda, Tyler, Anthony, and Nathan Travis; and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives. Bob graduated from Little Falls High School in 1960. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from the State of University of New York Institute of Technology. Bob was a member of the United States Army, and would often reflect on his time while he was stationed in Germany. Bob worked for himself and had a wood-crafting shop, he was also employed by MDS, Remington Arms, the NY State Canal, and finally retired from Midstate Correctional Facility. Bob could accomplish anything he set his mind to and was a talented wood-worker, poet, and collector of lost things. Bob had a deep connection to the outdoors and passed on this passion to his family. Of his many interests, he devoted much of his time to the pursuit of learning. Calling hours will be held on Friday May 25, 2018 from 4-6pm at Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion, New York. Bob’s funeral will be at 6:00 PM, Friday.
