Ilion Esther R. Burt, age 83, former resident of Ilion and a long term resident of the Masonic Care Community passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care. She was born on July 5, 1935 in Boston, Ma, the daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice Walker Brown Her higher education included the Plymouth Teachers College, Wellesley College and the Utica School of Commerce. On December 28, 1958 she was united in marriage with Dean G. Burt he passed away in 2005. Esther was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, a former member of the Evening Star Chapter O.E.S, a Friendly Home Party sales representative and a member of the Resident Council at the Masonic Home. She enjoyed playing computer games and the activities at the Masonic Home. Esther is survived by five children and their respective spouses, Glenn Burt of Bennington, VT., Deanna Burt-Stubley and Matthew Stubley of Ilion, Robyn Burt Cadwell and Steve Cadwell of Little Falls, Walter Burt and Dr. Du Xaio-Burt of Shanghai, China and Eric Burt and Karen-March Burt of Whitesboro. She had 9 grandchildren Mikala and Mackenzie Stubley, Jennifer Giaquinto, Stephanie and Steve Cadwell, Gabriella Burt and Eric Jr., Kavla and Ryan Burt. She also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Gail Brown of NH. A celebration of Esther's life will be held Sunday, October 7, 2018 in the Meditation Chapel of the Masonic Home in Utica, she will be laid to rest with her husband in Saratoga National Cemetery. at a later date, Arrangements are with Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St. Ilion.
