I first met Jimi in 1975 when we were stationed at Headquarters Company, Bldg. 406, at Fort Myer, Virginia - I was a know-nothing kid from Louisiana far from home for the first time, and he was this cool, tough guy from a place in New York state called Mohawk - we became good friends, and every now & then he'd invite me along when he traveled home on the weekends. I fell in love with his part of the world: my first snowstorms, the ice-cold streams in the mountains, driving along the highway with the valley spread out below, his sister Jaime, his little brother Danny (who was a wrestler and as strong as an ox), Nancy, and his folks made me feel right at home. -- Sadly, after discharge, we each went on with our lives, as soldiers often do...but I often wondered what became of my old friend.
My deepest sympathy to you, Nancy, and my prayers are for you and your family.
