I was sorry to learn of the recent death of Pastor Ann Wicks. Quite a few years ago, she and I worked on Lay Studies matters in the Mohawk-Oneida Baptist Association, and I know that she was deeply devoted to this ministry. In fact, I might not have gotten involved with Lay Studies without her encouragement. I appreciated her work with the churches of the Mohawk-Oneida Association as well as her creativity in ministry. As pastor of one church, she served breakfast to hungry kids who came to the church for Sunday School. She also worked effectively with me and another pastor in a joint youth ministry, and she was selfless in this endeavor. I will certainly miss her as a colleague and friend.

Ann was a devoted partner in ministry with me during all my years at Pathfinder Lodge. Her nursing skills were an invaluable gift both when she worked on staff and the many weeks she volunteered. Her love for all God's children was always evident. Ann was a light to many and will be dearly missed.
My condolences to all her family.
