Ilion - Mrs. Betty Johnson, 95, of Ilion, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born in Mohawk on September 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Milton and Edith Hill Dibble and she attended Mohawk Schools. She was married to Raymond L. Johnson on May 8, 1948 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Herkimer. Betty was employed as a Bookkeeper for Raymond Johnson Construction in Ilion for many years. Betty is survived by three sons, Jeff Johnson of Florida, Raymond Johnson and his wife, Lisa of Ilion and Dale Johnson of Ilion; her beloved grandchildren, Ben and Leah Johnson of Schuyler, Sarah Johnson and her companion, Josh Evans of Herkimer, Joey Johnson and his companion, Mitta Solaehan of Ilion, Michael Johnson and his companion, Amelia Newton of Florida and Marissa Johnson of Ilion; great-grandchildren, Blair Johnson, Collin Johnson and Harper Evans and one sister, Lorraine Dibble of Herkimer. She was predeceased by two brothers, Milton Dibble and Doug Dibble and five sisters, Joyce, Eloise, Charlene, June and Fern. Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Interment will also be held privately in Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion. Betty's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the St. Luke's Home for the kindness and care given to her.
