I miss you living right across the street upstairs in Beaver's house. I can still see Uncle Chick coming down the stairs in the dark with a flashlight scaring trick-or-treaters on Halloween. That street was so much of our world back then.
I miss sledding with Donny on the big hills near your house next to Chips. We nearly froze and sometimes stopped traffic, literally. I can almost see Donny now flying down the hill on that big toboggan like a shadow under the deep snow.
I miss the sleepovers, ending every night drinking chocolate milk made (as God intended) with Hershey's from the can which paired perfectly with Spaulding donut peanut butter sandwiches.
I miss playing Family Feud at night and solitaire on TV trays all day long, sometimes for days on end. Time stood still back then, and now I wish it could have lasted just little while longer.
I miss watching you and Uncle Chick dancing like kids when "good" music was playing.
Most of all I just miss you Aunt Nannie.

“Aunt” Janet was not related to me by blood, but she was family in spirit and always made me feel like I was a part of the family. I remember visiting at her home as a little girl and was always made to feel like I belonged with everyone. She created a sense of community for everyone around her and I will miss her dearly.
