Mark was my homeroom teacher in 11th grade when I came back to Ilion school. He was very helpful as I transitioned to Public school, and it didn't hurt that I was going steady with Bob DesChamps his mother's God Child. He was a wonderful man and great teacher who will be missed by all who knew him. Sincere condolences from Bob and and I and our children in this difficult time. Mary Carole DesChamps "64"

The gang at the Park Inn in Richfield Springs is all saddened to hear about Mark's death. There were many great conversations with Mark and Ellen over cold brews while the laundry was being done at the laundromat.
And, especially myself and my late husband, Terry Crandall had many great conversations about the Ilion days.
Sincerest sympathy.

To the entire Fahey family,
I (Bob) had Mr. Fahey for math and truly enjoyed having him. He was funny and stern, yet made his class interesting and enjoyable. He was one of my favorite teachers and will be missed by many for sure.
Our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers are extended to the entire family and close friends. God Bless !

I am saddened to learn of Mark’s passing. I taught with him for thirteen years at Ilion. Although I left there more than thirty five years ago, I can still see his face and hear his laugh. He was one of those people that you could never forget.

How do I begin? I was in 7th grade when I first saw Mr.Fahey he came into the cafeteria and started to pick on some of the kids who were trying to budge ahead in the lunch line. I knew then he was a teacher you could count on. He comes into my mind many times throughout the years as do many of the teachers at Ilion High School some still here and those who have passed. Please let the family know that they had a very special person in their lives. He will be missed. I will pray for him and his family may God keep all of you close.

Mr. Fahey continues to make his mark on me to this day - as I try to emulate what a charismatic teacher he was, in my own classroom. He loved us “kids” and pushed us to do our very best every day. I can still hear his booming voice and his laugh. My sympathy to Mr. Fahey’s entire Family.
