Ilion Carol Walsh, age 70 of Ilion, NY entered into Heaven on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at home after a brief illness. She lived a life filled with love and family inspired by her favorite quote, “The best times are together times.” Born in Frankfort, NY on July 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Adeline (Burrows) Seymour. Carol graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler Central schools in 1966 and continued her education at the State University College at Oneonta earning her degree in 1970. On August 1, 1970, Carol was united in marriage to Eugene “Jerry” Walsh, Jr. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Frankfort. Carol and Jerry enjoyed 38 years of marriage and lived in Ilion their entire married life. For 32 years, Carol worked as a school teacher at Hughes Elementary School in New Hartford. In addition, Carol worked with Jerry for more than two decades in their family business, Walsh’s Video. They captured the joy of weddings and other happy times on video providing lasting memories for their clients. After Jerry’s passing, Carol started the Jerry Walsh Memorial CakeEater Classic, a local golf tournament that benefited ALS of Utica and other ALS services. During the 10 years of the golf tournament, thousands of dollars were raised to help ALS patients and their families. While she held many titles, the one she cherished the most was Grandmother. Her grandchildren, Patrick, Grace and Summer were her world. The time she spent with each was filled with love, adventure and imagination.
